Martina Lajczak

Martina Lajczak (*1990) is a Vienna based photographer and just recently finished her Master's degree in Applied Photography and Time-based Media at the University of Applied Arts Vienna in 2020. Her work is mainly drawn by aspects of daily life and the multiple aesthetics of her direct surroundings. Lajczak tries to show the otherwise unseen and immanent sides of everyday life in interaction with the photographic process itself. While her commissioned projects mainly focus on portraiture her personal work is made up of a variety of photographic genres and media, incorporating still life and documentary photography as well as digital and analog photographic techniques. Recurring topics: subcultures & music, relationships, the concept of memory, political activism and flowers. As a photographer Martina Lajczak has exhibited in various places across Austria, has taught at the photography department at the HfBK Dresden and was recently published in three collaborative photography books by publishers De Gruyter and POOL Publishing.
